Wirral Book of the Year!
Year 8 girls have been taking part in the Wirral Book of the Year 2017. The girls have been reading from 15 recently published titles. After 5 months of reading the books the Librarian took 24 girls to a prestigious event to meet 6 of the authors involved. The authors spoke about their books and answered questions.
The girls are pictured with Martin Griffin author of “Lifers”. The Wirral Paperback winner will be announced at a judging event in June.
“I thoroughly enjoyed the event. The authors were engaging and very inspirational as they each told their own stories about how they started writing. They all gave lots of advice and now I’m desperate to read all their books! It was a great day, I would love to go again!” G McFarlane, 8W
“I really enjoyed the Wirral Book Award as all the authors were so inspirational. In particular Kathryn Evans, author of More of Me. She taught me to keep persevering and to believe in myself in order to achieve my goal. I would definitely recommend going to anyone next year.” K Jones, 8W
