Rewards & Sanctions
Students from Years 7 - 11 are awarded house points (Key Stage 3) and merits (Key Stage 4), which contribute one point to their House and these are totalled at the end of the year for the House Cup Competition. Points are awarded for good work, contribution or support of the school community and are recorded using an online system. Each half term the points are totalled for each student and certificates are awarded in House Assembly at the start of the following half term. Parents are notified of this achievement.
Staff also record incidents of failure to complete homework, disruptive behaviour, etc by allocating a behaviour point to students (Years 7 - 11) and these points result in a series of intervention strategies. Parents are notified of these and if points continue to be accrued during a half term, the Head of Year will involve parents in a discussion about how best to address the issue.
At the end of each year, prizes are also awarded to three students from each form in Years 7, 8 and 9 who have received the most House Points. Prizes are also awarded to students in Years 10 and 11.
