Each Sixth Form student is treated as an individual at West Kirby and our experienced Sixth Form tutors support every student through whatever pathway they choose - university, vocational course, employment or apprenticeships.
West Kirby was cited as being in the top 5 in the UK for the success of their students receiving and accepting offers from their first choice institution. This is testament to the high calibre students we have and the appropriateness of their university choices in relation to their talents.
In 2015, 93% of our Year 13 leavers entered higher education with a further 2% taking a gap year, 2% embarked on Art Foundation courses and 3% entered employment.
A wide range of courses and careers are undertaken by West Kirby students. The traditional professions such as medicine, law, architecture and veterinary science are well presented. However, students also embark on courses in film and screenwriting and International Events Management.
Price Waterhouse Cooper is the destination of one of our most recent leavers in 2014. She is entering the firm as a management trainee. A great opportunity and a way of avoiding student debt. British Aerospace is another example of an exciting opportunity for one of our Sixth Form leavers and another student is at Unilever on a higher level apprenticeship scheme. Apprenticeships are becoming an increasingly attractive proposition.
Our advice is reach for the stars. The sky is the limit!
